Proofreading

Publishing in a peer-reviewed journal or writing a first dissertation in English requires a high degree of language accuracy. However, writing in a second language can be a challenge. Grammatical errors or incorrect use of vocabulary can obscure or detract from the main message, reducing chances of success. BETA offers a proofreading service to ensure your manuscript contains no language errors.

Overview
BETA offers a proofreading service for research or review articles, theses, dissertations and academic correspondence. Manuscripts can be sent to Deborah in the form of .doc files or .pdfs and she will make corrections, suggest alternatives or add comments using the track changes function of word or the add comments function in Adobe Acrobat.
Service

The proofreading service includes:

  • Correction of errors in spelling, grammar, punctuation and syntax
  • Suggestions for improvements in style and clarity
  • Review of references and citations
Charges
Fees are based on an hourly rate of 40€ and the deadline and a maximum number of hours (if required) are agreed at the outset.
